FCT x EGO Unveils “Rook-Khat” Checkmate Jersey Edition: A Special Football Shirt Inspired by Thai Chess at the 10th Thailand Football Shirt Festival

The “Rook-Khat” Checkmate Jersey Edition has officially launched. This special collaboration between the Football Shirt Community of Thailand (FCT) and EGO Sport Thailand made its grand debut at the 10th Thailand Football Shirt Festival, held at The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan.

The launch event was honored by the presence of the FCT executive team, including Mr. Kiatkamol Klomkaew, Mr. Wasan Chanpranot, and Mr. Prawit Chratsonthirak, alongside Ms. Neeramphorn Jarumaneeroj, Business Development and Brand Marketing Director of Ego Sport International Co., Ltd.

This Special Jersey Edition stems from the concept of reinterpreting one of football’s most iconic design languages—the checkered pattern—through the art and identity of Thai Chess. It seamlessly blends football, fashion, and strategic gameplay into a single piece of apparel.

The name “Rook-Khat” (Checkmate) signifies the definitive, game-deciding move—comparable to a final, precise, and sharp strategy on the board. This concept is meticulously woven into the jersey’s details, from the chess piece graphics and the movement lines of the Knight, to the connecting patterns on the sleeves that mimic an ongoing game on a chessboard.

A standout feature of this edition is the Glow-in-the-Dark chess pieces, a rare and innovative element in football jersey design that bridges creative aesthetics with textile technology. Furthermore, the inside collar features a printed “Hall of Champions,” chronicling every World Cup winner in history to celebrate the upcoming World Cup atmosphere. Meanwhile, the Red-White-Blue color scheme is thoughtfully designed to let fans perfectly wear it to cheer on the Thailand National Team.

A representative from the Football Shirt Community of Thailand stated:

     “We wanted this jersey to be more than just merchandise; we wanted it to be a piece of design that reflects football culture through a new lens. The checkered pattern is an iconic football staple, while Thai chess represents our cultural roots. Blending them together resulted in the Checkmate Jersey Edition.”

Ms. Neeramphorn Jarumaneeroj, Business Development and Brand Marketing Director of Ego Sport International Co., Ltd., added:

The collection is launched in two versions:

• Checkmate Home: The signature red-and-white checkered design.

• Checkmate Blackout: A sleek black version offering a different mood and interpretation of the design.

The “Rook-Khat” Checkmate Jersey Edition made its official debut and exclusive first sale at the 10th Thailand Football Shirt Festival, held from May 1–3, 2026, at The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan, 1st Floor, M Lifestyle Hall.
